Frances Biehler

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shelbyville. Visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the Chautauqua Restoration Fund both in Shelbyville.
Frances was born on August 2, 1928 in rural Shelbyville, the twin daughter of Louie and Louise Popendieker Biehler. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1946. Her employments include, Shelby Loan and Trust Company, Shelbyville, Citizens Bank, Kemper Insurance Company and Mueller Company all in Decatur and the Shelby County Courthouse, where she worked in the County Treasurer’s Office and the County Clerk’s Office. Frances was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shelbyville all of her life and went to church every Sunday. She was also a member of the Women’s Bible Study of the church and served as their treasurer for 15 years. She loved to travel, shop and go out to eat.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Sharman Bastl and husband Bill of Franklin, TN, Bob Biehler of Maplewood, MO, Jan Biehler and wife Cathy of Florissant, MO, Marlene Waggoner and husband Chuck of Shelbyville, Terry Biehler and wife Leslie of St. Petersburg, FL, Judith Logan and husband Darrell of Holland, NE, Jane Peterson and husband Steve of Dahinda, IL, Carol Richards of Escondido, CA, Nancy Richards of Des Plaines, IL, Steve Biehler and wife Kim of Redondo Beach, CA, Mike Biehler and wife Beth of Scottsdale, AZ and Penny Babb and husband Phil of Peoria, AZ; and sister-in-law, Shirley Hick and husband Alan of Sun City West, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin brother, Franklin Biehler; brothers, Raymond, Clarence and Lester Biehler; sisters, Ruby, Inez and Selma Biehler and Helen Richards; brother-in-law, Ed Richards; sisters-in-law, Betty Biehler and Gertie Biehler; nephew, Larry Biehler; and niece, Peggy Lafko.
