Memorial graveside services will be held for Clyde and Frances Furr on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur with Rev. Sally Hamon officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Mr. Furr died on November 10, 2004 in Decatur. Mrs. Furr died on July 15, 2007 in Decatur. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.

Mrs. Furr, 85, was born on September 20, 1921 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Carl and Pearl Bottrel Drysdale. She graduated from Blue Mound Community High School and Sparks Business College in Shelbyville. She was an office secretary for Dr. Paul Raber in Decatur and previously worked at the Sangamon Ordnance Plant in Illiopolis. Mr. Furr, 81, was born on May 16, 1923 in Shelbyville, the son of Charles Allen and Marjorie C. Reid Furr. He graduated from Tower Hill High School. He attended Sparks Business College before graduating from Millikin University in Decatur. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the Army Air Corps. He was an accountant for a concrete irrigation pipe company in Phoenix, AZ. Clyde and Frances were married on March 16, 1944.

Mrs. Furr is survived by her brother, Carl Drysdale Jr. and wife Mary Ellen of Blue Mound; and sisters, Hope Krieger of Edwardsville and Star Halbrook and husband Paul of Tower Hill. Mr. Furr is survived by his brother, Russell A. Furr and wife Lavonne of Roanoke; sister, Catherine Gaston and husband Charles of Iowa Park, TX; step-brother, Robert K. Simpson and wife Wilma of Urbana; and step-sister, Maridell Bartscht and husband Charles of Shelbyville. They are also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Furr was preceded in death by her sister, Joy Buckner.
