Frances “Dee” Murphy, 83, of Tower Hill, IL, passed away at 8:05 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2021 at Prairie Rose Health Care Center, Pana, IL.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at noon on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Knobs Cemetery, Tower Hill, IL, with Rev. Randy Miller officiating. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Knobs Baptist Church or Gideons International and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Dee was born on September 9, 1937, in Cold Spring Township, the daughter of Huber O. and Evelyn P. (Glick) Foster. She graduated from Tower Hill High School in the Class of 1955. She married Donald E. Murphy on June 24, 1955. Dee was a bookkeeper for Caterpillar in Decatur and Amway Distributor in Pana and served as treasurer for Tower Hill Township. She was a member of Knobs Baptist Church and Gideons International.

Dee is survived by her daughter, Deanna (David) McKinney of Decatur, IL; son, Donald (Joan) Murphy of Tower Hill, IL; brother, Roger Foster of Tower Hill, IL; four grandchildren, Julia McKay of Pekin, IL, Blake McKay of Mattoon, IL, Travis McKay of Pekin, IL, and Amanda (Brock) Symon of Indianapolis, IN; and two great grandchildren, Rhemy Symon and Theo Symon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald on December 25, 2014; sisters, Doris Ann Foster in infancy and Donna Carroll; sister-in-law, Evelyn Foster; and brother-in-law, Rodell Carroll.
