Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2015 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Shumway, IL, with Father Ron Hilt as celebrant. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Shumway, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Frances was born on September 8, 1921 in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Nicholas and Sarah (Goldie) Bartello Karas. She married George Albert Appelt. He died on November 3, 1996.
She is survived by her children, Georgianna Lindstrom and husband Gary of New York, NY, Gerry Appelt of Riverside, CA and Debby Alms and husband Ben of Lake Forest, CA; grandchildren, Lisa Lindstrom, Aaron Appelt, Benjamin Alms, Amy Aceves, and Laura Didio; and great grandchildren Alexandra Keating, Charlotte Keating, Nathan Aceves, Andrea Aceves, and Madeleine Alms.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; and brother, Paul Karas.
