Frank Junior “Prunie” Lower, 81, of Shelbyville, died at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2006 in his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday with Masonic rites at 7:45 p.m. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church of Shelbyville.

Mr. Lower was born on June 11, 1924 in Shelby County, the son of Frank and Verna Alberta Lohr Lower. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Shelbyville. He was a graduate of Shelbyville High School, Class of 1942, and attended Sparks Business College in Shelbyville. Frank was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and served on the U.S.S. Moffett during the war. He was a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge #53, Roy Vanderpool American Legion Post #81, V.F. W. Post # 4829, and Moose Lodge #1294 all in Shelbyville. He married Betty Jean Gordon on February 4, 1956 and together they had one son. They separated in 1982. He was employed at Davis Elevator in Shelbyville, former Oliver Corporation in Shelbyville until their closing and retired from Mueller’s Co. in Decatur.

Surviving are his son, Dr. Fritz E. Lower (wife, Monica) of Rochester; niece, Patsy Swenson of Shelbyville; nephews, Terry Logue of Shelbyville, Joe Logue (wife, Cherrie) of Inverness, FL, and John Martin of Springfield; and special friend, Betty Jean Dawkins of Shelbyville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Gwendolyn West and Rosiland Martin; and half-brother, Darrel Lower.
