Frank Sarver
(November 21, 1947 – August 15, 2006)
A memorial graveside service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007 in Antioch Cemetery, near Herrick. Military rites will be conducted by Sarver-Guthrie American Legion Post #839 in Herrick. Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville is in charge of arrangements.
Frank was born on November 21, 1947 in New Albany, Indiana, the son of Aldiff Franklin and Barbara June Huff Sarver. He grew up in Herrick, Illinois and was a graduate of Herrick High School in the Class of 1965. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1967 and served during the Vietnam War, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1971. Frank was a member of the Sarver-Guthrie American Legion Post #839 of Herrick, National Rifle Association and the North American Hunting Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends. Frank was employed by Effingham Equity as a truck driver.
He will be greatly missed by his mother, Barbara Sarver of Shelbyville; brothers, Robert L. (Julia) Sarver of Cowden and John S. Sarver of Cowden; sisters, Rebecca A. (Greg) Borah of Shelbyville, Ramona G. (Bob) Richards of Cowden and Melissa J. Mathis of Shelbyville; nephews and nieces, Landon (Lora) Sarver, Angela (Rich) Dust, Holly Sarver, Kyle Richards, Ashley Richards, Elizabeth Borah and Andrew Mathis; great nieces and nephews, Mariah and Leah Sarver, Rhett and Raegan Dust; step-nephew, Tony Borah; step-niece, Ashley Borah; step-great nephew, Conner Crouch; aunts, Myrna (Lyle) Eckard, Doris (Brenton) Byerly and Wreatha Huff; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Aldiff F. Sarver; paternal grandparents, Ollie and Gussie Sarver; maternal grandparents, O.T. and Bertha Huff; and cousin, Larry Eckard.
