Gail Marie Rincker, 89, of Strasburg, IL, passed away at 5:12 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019 in Shelbyville Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL with Rev. Steven Becker officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2019 and one hour before service time Tuesday both in the church. Burial will be in Grace Cemetery, Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be made to Stewardson-Strasburg Education Foundation or Grace Cemetery, Strasburg, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL.

Gail was born on January 31, 1930 in rural Stewardson, IL, the daughter of Noah E. and Beryl C. (nee Huffmaster) Tabbert.

She married Dale F. Rincker, September 20, 1953 at St.Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg, IL

She is survived by 3 children: Cinda (Ed) Held, Otto (Lisa) Rincker, and Otis (Donna) Rincker all of Strasburg.

Grandchildren: Caralea (Jared) Smith of Strasburg, Craig (Kara) Moffett of Sullivan, Andy (Kristen) Rincker of St. Jacob, Luke (Kalei) Rincker of St. Louis, Cody (Nicole) Rincker, and Will (Katie) Rincker of Effingham.

Great Grandchildren: Reed and Grady Smith, Charlie Grace Moffett, Grant, James, and Logan Rincker and twins, Phillip and Hudson Rincker.

She is also survived by a brother, Herbert Tabbert of Effingham; sister Alma Ruth Perry of Mattoon; brother-in-law, Loyd (Mary) Rincker, Shelbyville; sisters-in-law, Mildred Rincker and Norma Rose Huddleston both of Effingham; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, grandson Phillip Rincker, brothers Noah Jr., Otha, Max and Maurice Tabbert; and sisters, Margaret, Ellinere, and Wanda Lee Tabbert and son-in-law Daryl Moffett.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid, Shelby County Home Extension holding several offices and Past President of the Strasburg American Legion Auxiliary Liberty Unit #289. She was a 4-H leader for the Bonnie Belles and Strasburg Tailtwisters for over 20 years. You could also find her behind the grill at many Lions club, Legion and 4-H activities.

Gail was an avid reader, did beautiful embroidery work, enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play baseball, basketball and softball. She is probably best known for all the auction sales she attended in the area. She got there early and stayed late. She had a huge collection of teacups and tea pots.

In her declining years the Shelbyville Manor was her home.
