Gary D Pruemer

Mass of Christian Burial with Words of Remembrance will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Shelbyville, with Father Don Wolford officiating. Visitation from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the Education Fund for Levi and Dakota Pruemer.

Gary was born on September 29, 1962 in Shelbyville, the son of Jerome L. and Louise F. Beckman Pruemer. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1980 and Coyne Electric Institute, Chicago in 1985. He served his apprenticeship for the Electrical Union in Decatur and was an electrician for Bodine Electric in Decatur. He was a member of IBEW Local # 146, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Shelbyville and Knights of Columbus of the church. He enjoyed coaching Junior Football League, basketball and baseball. He married Marla R. Kensil on July 30, 1988 in Shelbyville.

Surviving are his wife, Marla; sons, Levi D. Pruemer and Dakota K. Pruemer both at home; parents, Jerome and Louise Pruemer of Shelbyville; mother-in-law, Patricia Kensil of Shelbyville; brothers, Alan Pruemer of Shelbyville, Dale Pruemer and wife Gloria of Dieterich, Nick Pruemer and wife Becky of Shelbyville and Brian Pruemer and wife Karen of Shelbyville; sisters, Kathy Clark and husband Joel of Shelbyville and Amy Reynolds and husband Barry of Cincinnati, OH; brother-in-law, Brian Kensil and wife Sandra of Stamford, CT; sister-in-law, Janet Kensil of Shelbyville; nieces and nephews, Aaron Clark and wife Melissa, Matt Clark and fiancé Michelle, Will Clark, Jeffrey and Jill Pruemer; Jeremy, Jason, Jacob, Jessica and Justina Pruemer, Brittany and Trevor Pruemer, Kasey and Kaleb Pruemer, Danielle and Alexis Reynolds, Jessica Conway and husband Scott, and Sean Kensil; and great nephew and niece, Ethan and Millie Clark..

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Kenneth “Fuzz” Kensil; and nephew, Joey Pruemer.
