Gary Lee Ogden, 78, of Shelbyville, IL passed away at 8:21 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2020 in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Rev. David Beerbower officiating. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church Food Pantry, Shelbyville or Assumption Food Pantry and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Gary was born on March 29, 1942, in Moline, IL, the son of Glenn Alfred and Margaret Haenig Ogden. He graduated from Springfield High School and Greenville College and previously attended the Moody Bible Institute. Gary was a Pastor in the Free Methodist Churches in Greenville, Litchfield, St. Louis, Bloomington-Normal and Shelbyville. He later owned and operated GLO Electric in Shelbyville. Gary attended Mt. Pleasant Church of God near Assumption. He married Donna Elaine Elmore on June 1, 1963.

Gary is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, Dan (Terri) Ogden of Danville, IN and David (Sherry) Ogden of Shelbyville, IL; 6 grandchildren, Danielle (Jackson), Grant, Jenny, Ariana (Daniel), Sophie and Grady; 4 great grandchildren, Griffin, Evelyn, Sawyer and Taitum; brothers, Dennis (Amanda) Ogden of Hammond, IL, and Mark (Mary) Ogden of Land O’ Lakes, FL; and sister, Glenda (David) Hess of Lakeland, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Maurice Ogden.
