Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL, with Rev. Miley Palmer officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Decatur, IL, American Legion Auxiliary Post #81 of Shelbyville, IL or the Wounded Warrior Project.
Mrs. Price was born on August 5, 1929 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Merritt E. and Carrie Dell Russell Ragan. She worked for Borg-Warner in Decatur, IL for many years. Gladys was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Decatur, IL and American Legion Auxiliary Post #81 of Shelbyville, IL. She was very patriotic and never met a stranger. Gladys was an avid bowler. She loved Jesus and loved her family. She married Ralph F. Price on June 12, 1948. He died on January 1, 2007.
She is survived by her daughter, Darla K. Lawrence and husband Scott of Decatur, IL; brother, Gaylord Ragan of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Freda Stanger of Independence, MO; sister-in-law, Goldie Ragan of Shelbyville, IL; four nephews; and six nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Noble, Ervil and Gleason Ragan; two sisters, Dorothy Rothrock and Alberta Jean Ragan; nephew, Jim Rothrock; and niece, Susan Hightower.
Gladys’s family would like to thank Heartland Health Care Center and Harbor Light Hospice for all of the care that she received.
