Gladys Bendler

Her family will gather for a graveside service on Saturday morning, March 16, 2019, in the Findlay Cemetery, Findlay, IL with her great grandson, Myles Foor officiating. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Shelby Christian Church in Shelbyville, IL.
Gladys was born on September 8, 1918 in Findlay, IL, the daughter of Orvil and Pearl Claypool Scrogin. She graduated from Findlay High School in the Class of 1936. Gladys ran the cafeteria at Kmart in Mattoon, IL for over twenty five years. She was an avid quilter. Gladys married Edward Bendler on October 29, 1938. He died on June 14, 1990.
She is survived by her sons, Don Bendler (Pat) of Shelbyville, IL and Ron Bendler (Suzie) of Galena, IL; daughter, Karen Ladge of Taylorville, IL; five grandchildren, Michele Saddoris (Craig), Rob Bendler and Corrie Stauder (Kent) all of Shelbyville, IL, Jennifer Rogers (Mitch) of Evanston, IL and Matthew Bendler (Angie) of Nebraska; and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Ernest Scrogin and sister, Mildred Neal.
