Glen M. Weaver, 61, of Shelbyville, died at 3:42 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2006 in Shelby Memorial Hospital of lung disease.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Shelbyville with Father Don Wolford and Father John Sohm officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with prayer service at 7:45 p.m. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Building Fund.

Mr. Weaver was born on February 19, 1945, the son of Earl and Velva (Powell) Weaver. He grew up in St. Elmo and graduated from St. Elmo High School in 1963. He graduated from barber school in Decatur. He married Dorothy J. Bauer on Oct. 19, 1968, in St. Elmo. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He owned Weaver’s Barbershop in Shelbyville in the 1970s. He worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office for 26 years in Shelbyville and in Assumption. He retired in 2000, and later worked as a maintenance man for Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Shelbyville, and also part-time at ACE Hardware in Shelbyville.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; four daughters: Penny Weaver of Mattoon; Kim and husband Norman Wiggins of Trenton; Valerie and husband Jerry Buck of Pekin; and Hilary and husband Rob Duke of Clinton. Six grandchildren: Daniel, Isabel and Olivia Wiggins; Stephanie and Tyler Buck; and Cooper Duke. Two sisters: Earlene and husband Jim Jenkins of St. Elmo and Wilma Black of St. Elmo. Half-brothers: Norval Bird, Carroll Bird and Odwain Bird. Half-sisters: Earlene Webb, Mary Lou Morton and Jessie Ruth Reunard; as well as many other loved ones.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Shelbyville.
