Glenn Arnold Ruff, 82, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021 in Shelbyville Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Jan Lawson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.  Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Glenwood Cemetery (Section B), Shelbyville, IL, with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard.  Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Glenn was born on April 17, 1938, in Oconee, IL, the son of Neva Mae Ruff.  He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1956.  He then served in the US Navy from 1956-1960 on the USS Canberra. Glenn owned and managed the Mobile Oil dealership in Shelbyville for many years.  He later worked for Shelbyville Community School District #4 in the maintenance department and was also a bus driver. Glenn was a member of the Shelby County Rescue Squad and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Shelbyville, where he served as church president.  He married Carolyn S. (Mize) Sievers on May 1, 1993.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; daughter, Kimberly Kersey of Taylorville, IL; son, Shannon Ruff (Rhonda) of Shelbyville, IL; step-children, Kevin Sievers (Christie) of Shelbyville, IL, Jackie Danneberger of Decatur, IL and Dena Helton of Shelbyville, IL; five grandchildren, Kyler, Kody, Kolton, Brianna and Bradon; nine step-grandchildren; one great grandchild, Ivy; and 21 step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Neva Mae; and grandparents, Chris and Myrtle Page Ruff, who raised Glenn.
