Gloria Ann Christner, daughter of Joe D. and Emma (Eigsti) Christner, was born near Corfu, New York, on February 21, 1926. She passed on into eternity on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in rural Roanoke, Illinois. God granted her a life of 98 years, 9 months, and 18 days.
In her youth she accepted Christ as her Saviour, was baptized on confession of her faith, and was united with the Amish Mennonite Church at Shelbyville, Illinois.
She leaves to mourn her departure two sisters, Barbara Hostetler of Roanoke, Illinois, and Emily Kennell of Sarasota, Florida and many nephews and nieces to whom she was a very special aunt.
Preceding her in death were four brothers, Christy (and Ellen) Christner, Joe Christner Jr, Frank (and Sarah) Christner, and Jake (and Nora Jane) Christner. Three sisters, Lavina (and Lynn) Miller, Mary Christner, and Luella (and Silas) Zoss. Two brothers-in-law, Ervin Hostetler, and Kenneth Kennell.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Howe & Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville, and she will be laid to rest in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
