Grant E Waggoner
(August 14, 1928 – May 23, 2010)
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with Rev. Jeff Grote officiating and military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Visitation from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Saturday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville.
Grant was born on August 14, 1928 in Shelbyville. He was a graduate of Shelbyville High School and Eastern Illinois University. Grant was a veteran of the U.S. Army, an elder of the Presbyterian Church, Mason and an avid world traveler. He enjoyed golf and wine tasting. After a career in sales and real estate, Grant retired to Arizona with his wife Louise Meinke-Waggoner where they lived for 12 years.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Louise Meinke-Waggoner; son, Grant S. Waggoner (Deborah); daughter, Shawn Laszlo; their mother, Norma Stewardson; grandchildren, Grant Conner, Alicia, and Dustin; great granddaughter, Zoie; sister, Clara Damp (Ken); and many other relatives.
Grant was preceded in death by his daughter, Kymbal LeAnn; parents, George Raymond and Velma Pearl Waggoner; and brothers, George, Robert “Rass”, Carl, and Ted Waggoner.
