Gregory Allen “Greg” Foor
, 74, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 10:42 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital, Shelbyville, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2022 at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Pastors Susan Burnett and Mike Carr officiating. Visitation will be from noon – 2:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Mr. Foor was born on February 11, 1948, in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Leverett Rudolph “Rudy” and Alda Eileen (Sain) Foor. He graduated from Tower Hill High School in the Class of 1966 and went on to Sams Technical Institute for Architectural Drafting in Indiana. Greg married Barbara Askins and they had two children, Doug and Branda. In his early years, Greg worked with his father, Rudy, and brother, Jeff, at Foor Auto and Truck Parts. He later ventured out on his own and operated an auto and truck repair and machine shop. Greg also owned and operated Trackside Skating Rink and worked at G.W. Prosser Redi-Mix for seven years. Mr. Foor was a very talented musician. He played accordion, organ, and piano. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed building hot rods and pickups. He also liked WWII Aviation and woodworking. Greg married Pamela Steele on September 16, 2012 in Carbondale, IL, and together they enjoyed 9 years of marriage. They played music all over.
Greg is survived by his wife, Pam; son, Doug Foor (Christie) of Shelbyville, IL; daughter, Branda Bantner (Michael) of Heyworth, IL; step-daughter, Brooke Lowe of Mt. Zion, IL; brother, Jeff Foor of Shelbyville, IL; six grandchildren, Madison (Cyrus), Myles, Dallas (Bart), Bethanie, Braidyn and Breck; and two great grandchildren, Evelyn and Gwen.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
