Harold Arthur Pinkston , 98, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 12:08 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024 in Shelbyville Manor.

Graveside services for family and friends will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024, in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Tina Miller officiating.   Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.  Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.

Harold was born on June 10, 1925 in Shelby County, IL, the son of Harley and Muriel (Wade) Pinkston.  He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1943.  Harold married Virginia M. Hamilton on November 5, 1944.  She preceded him in death on July 12, 2002.  Harold was a lifelong farmer.  He also worked for the Illinois State Highway Department and previously for S. J. Groves and Sons Company during the building of the Lake Shelbyville Dam.  Harold was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed mowing lawns and tilling gardens.

He is survived by his  daughters, Nancy Furr of Stockton, CA, Diane Price (Jeff) of Shelbyville, IL and Dorothea “Dorty” Reedy of Shelbyville, IL: brother, Don Pinkston (Nancy) of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren, Jeff Furr, Tracy Howell (Gary), Jeff Price (Lori), Jamie Williams, Shane Price (Brandi), Rachel Price, and Stacy Reedy; great grandchildren, Tara Hodges (Matt), Seth Furr, Rachel Price, Harley Williams, Hunter Williams, Savana Williams (Dylan), Sophie Price, Oliver Backs, Paisley Fitzgerald, Josie Agney, Clayson Price, Lily Price, Cheyenne Pieszchalski (Tyler), Skyler Reedy, Blade Reedy (Carissa), Quinton Reedy (Ashlie), Brock Reedy, Garrett Reedy, and Rylee Price; and great great grandchildren, Jayde Hodges, Kalab Hodges, Avery Hodges, Kai Williams, Serenity Feneley, Zyden Feneley, Rosslyn Smith, Amiya Smith, Owen Pieszchalski, Holley Pieszchalski, Saphira Latham, Roman Wells, Leo Wells, Emery Reedy, Liam Reedy, Tydus Reedy, Ronin Reedy, Odin Reedy and Kaspian Reedy; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia; daughter, Jackie Pinkston; sisters, Joyce Johnston (Eugene) and Doris Huffer (Leonard); and grandson, Mark Reedy.
