Harold V Miller
(July 16, 1927 – February 22, 2008)
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Lynette DeAtley officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to Fourth Street United Methodist Church in Shelbyville.
Mr. Miller was born on July 16, 1927 in Mode, Illinois the son of Lawrence M. and Fay L. Compton Miller. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1944 and was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. Harold was an automotive technician at Leach-Wilson Chevrolet-Buick in Shelbyville until his retirement. He was a member of the Fourth Street United Methodist Church in Shelbyville, Shelby County Farm Bureau and a former member of the Clarksburg United Methodist Church. He married Myra Maxine Williams on April 17, 1949 in Clarksburg, Illinois. She died on May 13, 2002. He married Anna Roberta Wyatt Sain on November 30, 2003.
Surviving are his wife, Roberta; sons, Daniel Miller and wife Cindy of Windsor, Randal Miller and wife Peggy of Lincoln and Kevin Miller and wife Nancy of Shelbyville; step-sons, J. Mike Sain of Charleston and Shawn Sain and wife Jennifer of Windsor; daughters, Julia Melcher and husband Kent of Topeka, KS and Marla Helton and husband Jim of Sullivan; step-daughter, Linda Hampton and husband Richard of Effingham; brother, Virgil Miller and wife Joan of Mode; sister, Virginia Walker of Franklin, IN; brothers-in-law, Dale Williams and wife Dorothy of Morton and Bill Krause of Shelbyville; sisters-in-law, Elsie Parr and Edith Gregg and husband Virgil all of Shelbyville and Gladys Mathis of Putnam, OK; eight grandchildren, Melanie Melcher-Cuthbertson, Sarah Melcher Miller, Joshua Melcher, Jamie and Zach Helton, Bradley Miller, and Gabrielle and Elijah Miller; eleven step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren, Gracee Helton and Ella Miller; and ten step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Myra; brothers, Verl and Dean Miller; and sisters, Vivian Miller and Dorothy Krause.
