Harold W. Gilmore

(June 30, 1950 – January 23, 2023)

Harold Wayne Gilmore , 72, of Shelbyville, IL, formerly of Schaumburg, IL, crossed over into heaven to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ our Lord at 9:10 a.m. Monday, January 23, 2023 in his residence.

Military Honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2023 in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Arrangements are by Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to City Reach Ministries, Inc and mailed to Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565 or online through PayPal.

Harold was born on June 30, 1950 in Chicago, IL, the son of Harold and Mercedes (Olivarez) Gilmore. He graduated from De La Salle Institute in Chicago, IL. Harold went on to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He later attended Washburn Trade School and joined the Chicago Regional Carpenter’s Local 62 where he worked as a master carpenter for 35 years. Harold married Rev. Eileen M. Olivares in 2005, and they retired to Shelbyville in 2007, where they enjoyed fishing on Lake Shelbyville.

Harold is survived by his wife, Eileen; her three children and her eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mercedes Olivarez Shershan.

Thank you for all of your prayers and love you have all demonstrated to Mr. Harold during his illness and now his home coming into the Kingdom of our Lord.
