Hazel M Gardner

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2009 in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon Monday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville.
Hazel was born on July 2, 1924 in Monticello, Illinois, the daughter of George Washington and Opal Mae Baumgarten Rose. She married Louis Gardner on November 20, 1951 in Chillicothe, Illinois. Hazel and her husband lived all over the United States from Florida to Alaska. She worked in several restaurants as a waitress and a manager. Louis died on July 27, 1998.
Surviving are her sister, Patsy Hartsella of Indianapolis, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis; three brothers, Charles, Walter and Lewis Rose; and three sisters, Edna Hubner, Delia Van Nort and Mary Logsdon.
