Helen Jeane Beckett
(November 15, 1925 – April 12, 2015)
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL, with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, First Baptist Church of Shelbyville or the Animal Rescue of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.
Mrs. Beckett was born on November 15, 1925 in Windsor, IL, the daughter of William Donald and Cora Coquella Deichmann Wagemann. She graduated from Windsor High School in the Class of 1943. Jeane was also a graduate of Sparks Business College in Shelbyville. She began working for First Federal Savings and Loan in Shelbyville. She later became a switchboard operator for Shelby Memorial Hospital. Jean retired from Mutual Bank in Shelbyville, where she was a teller. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, IL and Theta Pi Gamma Sorority of Sparks Business College. She married Andrew William ‘Bill” Beckett on November 4, 1951. He died on January 20, 1985.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin Beckett and wife Leslie of Ivesdale, IL and Keith Beckett of Shelbyville, IL; and daughter, Karen Canada of Mililani, Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Bill.
