Helen L Maxwell

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2013 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Dan Seibert officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church, Shelbyville, IL.
Mrs. Maxwell was born on December 15, 1917 in Lakewood, IL the daughter of Frank Monroe and Agnes Lora Montooth Giberson. She was a graduate of Cowden High School and Sparks Business College in Shelbyville. Helen was a bookkeeper for the A.S.C.S. office in Shelbyville for over 25 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shelbyville, where she was active in the Kum Dubble Sunday School Class. Helen was also a member of the Kuilka Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Order of Eastern Star Chapter #69 both in Shelbyville and assisted with the Peace Meal program in Shelbyville. She married Byron “Barney” Vaughn Maxwell on June 4, 1942 in Terre Haute, IN. He died on January 23, 1978.
She is survived by her daughter, Joy Entzminger and husband Ronald of Arlington Heights, IL; grandson, Ronald; granddaughter, Lynne; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, “Barney”; and brothers, Dale, Eldon, Robert and Norman Giberson.
