Illa C Fox

A visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018 in the First Assembly of God Church in Shelbyville, IL. Burial will be at a later date in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Shelbyville Senior Center or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Illa was born on December 23, 1921 in Lamont, Iowa, the daughter of Carl G. and Lulu Mae Woolen Ross. She moved to Shelbyville in 1936 and graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1941. She married Joseph Clark Fox. Illa spent her life devoted to her family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Illa also enjoyed homemaking, gardening, flowers, baking, sewing and canning. Illa was a member of the First Christian Church, Shelbyville Senior Center and Shelbyville Home Extension.
She is survived by her children, Marilyn Fox Duckett (Gary) and Raymond Fox (Marla) all of Shelbyville, IL; step-children, Robert Fox of Shelbyville, IL and Frances Fox Andrews of California; grandchildren, Corey Duckett (Jessica), Bill Duckett (Jennifer), Wade Duckett (Morgan) and Caleb Duckett (Mandy) all of Shelbyville, IL; 21 step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Barbara Mae Eigsti Yencer Ross; husband, Joe Fox in 1991; daughters-in-law, DeEtta Daigh Fox and Donna Ward Fox; step-sons, P. Scott Fox, Roger E. Fox and Everett Fox; sisters, Louise M. Pflugradt, Maxine N. Swanson, Viola Fisher, Mary Jean Endsley; brothers, James Everett Ross, Carl Ross, Jr. and Lowell D. Ross; and close personal friend, Ervil Fisher.
