Imogene Donnel

Imogene Donnel, 104, of Findlay, IL, formerly of Lakewood, IL, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021 in Heartland Senior Living, Neoga, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2021 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Roger Quarton officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Westervelt Christian Church.
Imogene was born on December 26, 1916 in rural Lakewood, IL, the daughter of George Logan and Mary Elizabeth (Sphar) Askins. She graduated from Lakewood High School. Imogene began working in the Shelby County Courthouse drawing plats. She married Dale D. Donnel on May 6, 1939. Imogene and Dale farmed in rural Findlay, IL. She was baptized at the Westervelt Christian Church where she was a lifelong member. She and Dale later attended the Mt. Pleasant Church of God near their home. Imogene enjoyed cooking, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Donnel (Judy) of Findlay, IL; nephew, Duane Askins of Decatur, IL; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; daughter, Marilyn Smith (Robert); daughter-in-law, Amy Donnel; and three brothers, Leonard, Lloyd, and Gerald Elden Askins (Eleanor).
