Iola H Stewardson

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or St. John’s Lutheran Church, Shelbyville, IL.
Iola was born on December 20, 1920 in Strasburg, Illinois, the daughter of Edward and Addie Pfeiffer Tiemann. She worked for Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company in Shelbyville and also cleaned homes for area families. Iola was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville, IL. She married Raymond Dean Stewardson on April 21, 1946. He died on June 7, 2011.
She is survived by her four children, Donna Stewardson, Chester (Eleanor) Stewardson, Carl (Linda) Stewardson and Wilma Boys all of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Eileen Stremming of Shelbyville, IL; six grandchildren, Dawn (Mike) Reed of Windsor, IL, Beverly (Tim) Bryson of Mattoon, IL, Chris (Mary) Stewardson of Killeen, TX, Curt (Rachel) Stewardson of Shelbyville, IL, Becky (David) Mahaffey of Illiopolis, IL and David (Jodi) Boys of Mode, IL; ten great grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; and sister, Inah Noffke.
