Iona Mae Stewman, 79, of Shelbyville, IL, died at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in Shelby Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Ron Newman officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Iona was born on January 28, 1935 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Carl Arthur and Ruby Wanda Clevenger Fisher. She attended school in Findlay, IL. Iona worked for Shelby Memorial Hospital and later for Walmart in Mattoon, IL, until her retirement. She loved her cats and was an avid collector of salt and pepper shakers and Elvis memorabilia. She married Oscar M. Stewman, Jr. on November 28, 1968. He died on March 29, 2012.

She is survived by her children, Sheryl Reider of Shelbyville, IL, Vickie Miller and husband Chuck of Westervelt, IL and Eugene Stewman of Shelbyville, IL; brothers, Bud Fisher and wife Edna of Kennewick, WA and Lowell Fisher and wife Donna of Argenta, IL; sister, Norma Smith and husband Phil of Cowden, IL; sisters-in-law, Ursla Stewman of Georgia and Barb Johns of Westervelt, IL; grandchildren, Raymond Amerson and wife Sara of Mattoon, IL, Wesley Amerson of St. Louis, MO, Matthew Amerson and Beth Coventry of St. Louis, MO, Christopher Miller of Shelbyville, IL, Shannon Keppler of Shelbyville, IL and Shelby Stewman of Reddick, FL; and great grandchildren, Jaden Amerson, Makenna Durbin, Ivee, Cainun and Havannah Miller, Marcus, Rhiannon and Skylar Skinner and Gavin Reed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Albert Johns; husband, Oscar Stewman, Jr.; two children, Valerie and Kenneth Reider; brother, Jim Johns; brother-in-law, Terry Stewman; sister-in-law, Charlene Holley; and her beloved Tiffany.
