Iona Mae Lee, 96, of Shelbyville, formerly of Granite City, IL, passed away at 2:25 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2019 in Hawthorne Inn, Shelbyville, IL.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2019, in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Tim Yankee officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2019 in Chesterfield Cemetery, Chesterfield, IL. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.

Mrs. Lee was born on January 15, 1923 in Amboy, IL, the daughter of John E. and Frieda (Hoffman) Stewart. She began working in the packaging department of Borden’s Inc. in Dixon, IL, which supplied food items for the troops during WW II. After the war, Mae married Clyde W. Lee on September 3, 1947 in Dixon, IL. They lived most all of their married life in Granite City, IL, where she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Church Women United and New Hope Order of Eastern Star. She was also a Girl Scout Leader/#704 in Granite City, IL and worked for Stark’s Dry Cleaning in Alton, IL. She enjoyed volunteering, singing, crocheting, quilting, reading, and being with her family. Her husband, Clyde, passed away on June 28, 2005 and Mae moved to Shelbyville in January of 2017 and made it her new home.

She is survived by her daughters, Hope (Dr. Richard) Brown of Shelbyville, IL and Karol Luttrell of Granite City, IL; sister, Mary Lane of Amboy, IL; grandchildren, Jenny (John) Marshall of St. Peters, MO, Michael Greeling of Granite City, IL, Matthew Greeling of Glen Carbon, IL, Ryan (Lindsey) Brown of Shelbyville, IL, Kyle (Jordan) Brown of Granite City, IL and Lucas Brown of Shelbyville, IL; and great grandchildren, Scarlette Brown of Granite City, IL and Emma Brown of Shelbyville, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde; daughter, Karen Greeling on September 18, 2017; son-in-law, Dr. Greg Luttrell on March 30, 2019; and seven siblings, Harold Stewart, John Stewart, Dorothy Andreas, Cecil Stewart, Warren Stewart, Calvin Stewart and Charles Stewart.
