Irene A. Cole Jines, 87, of Auburn, Illinois, formerly of Shelbyville, died at 10:35 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011 in Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

* Please note service date has been changed. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 3, 2011 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Jordan Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the Auburn Christian Church, Auburn, IL.

Mrs. Jines was born on February 9, 1923 in Ramsey, Illinois, the daughter of George Ira and Mamie Catherine Sickles Jackson. She was a member of the Auburn Christian Church, Auburn, IL and a former member of the Shelby Christian Church, Shelbyville, IL. She married Merle Marion Cole on June 4, 1948 in St. Louis, MO. He died on June 8, 1982. She later married Carlis E. Jines on August 31, 1986. He died on August 20, 2004.

Surviving are her daughters, Betty Ann Rhea of Mattoon, IL, Peggy Jean Castelli and husband James of Auburn, IL, Linda Lee Moore and husband Wiley of Springfield, IL and Gail Marie Kopp and husband Brian of Wood River, IL; sisters, Wilma Alexander of Pana, IL and Betty Justice of Macon, GA; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Merle Cole and Carlis Jines; brothers, Bill, Junior, Gene and Bob; and two sisters, Dolly and Marie.
