Irma K. (Biehler) Workman Roney, 91, of Shelbyville, IL, died at 9:56 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014 in Shelbyville Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Synodically Authorized Minister, Marilyn Dudley officiating. Visitation will be from noon-2:00 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shelbyville, IL, Shelbyville Public Library, Memorial Sunken Garden Project at Forest Park or Donor’s Choice. Irma was born on August 13, 1922 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Robert and Martha Stuckemeyer Biehler. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1940. She was a farm wife, mother, and grandparent. Irma was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Shelbyville and a life member of Sarah Bush Volunteer Guild. She was proud of her German heritage. Her passions were her family, church, and music. She played the original pipe organ at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, altogether over 50 years, and also played the accordion. She volunteered playing the piano at the Shelbyville Manor. As a resident of Hawthorne Inn Assisted Living, she donated her piano and played it regularly for the residents. Her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren grew up with her and thought she was fun to be around. Irma was known as GG to her grandchildren and had GG on her license plate. She is loved and remembered. She married Raymond “Red” Workman on June 22, 1942. He died on April 19, 1973. She married Leo Roney on January 1, 1979. He died on August 25, 2000.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Ann (Rodney) Williamson of Neoga, IL, Carol Sue (Larry) Hinton of Gainesville, FL and Rose Marie (Mark) Kennedy of Poplar Bluff, MO; grandchildren, Brett (Julie) Williamson of Neoga, IL, Barry (Beth) Williamson of Windsor, IL, Tina (James) Bates of Gainesville, FL, Jared Kennedy of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Jessica (Drew) Shockley of Evansville, IN; great grandchildren, Bart (Misty) Williamson of Shelbyville, IL, Ted Williamson of Findlay, IL, Taylor Williamson of Windsor, IL, Olivia Williamson of Windsor, IL, Jake, Talia and Georgia Bates of Gainesville, FL, Jackson Kennedy of Poplar Bluff, MO and Mason and Max Shockley of Evansville, IN; great great grandchildren, Braxton and Braelin Williamson of Shelbyville, IL; brother, Carl (Ione) Biehler of Scottsdale, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended Roney family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; grandson, Todd Hinton; great grandson, Tanner Williamson; brother, Dale Biehler; and sister-in-law, Mary Biehler.

The family wishes to thank Hawthorne Inn, Shelbyville Manor, and Dr. Oligschlaeger and his staff for the care they gave our mother her last years.
