Jake Edwards
(May 21, 1978 – August 19, 2007)
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. David McHenry officiating. Visitation from 12:30 -2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the Education Fund for Hannah, Sommer & Raelin Edwards.
Jake was born on May 21, 1978 in Shelbyville, the son of Dennis Bradley and Sally A. Winings Edwards. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1996. He was a machine operator for Shelby County Community Services in Findlay. He loved playing guitars, an old Edwards’ family tradition. He also enjoyed hiking and camping along the Kaskaskia River with family and lots of friends.
He is survived by his girlfriend, Hailey Donald; daughters, Hannah (3), Sommer (2) and Raelin (11 mos.); mother, Sally Boehm and husband Larry of Westervelt; father, Brad Edwards of Shelbyville; brothers, Ben Edwards of rural Windsor and girlfriend Liberty Doemelt, and Zach Edwards of Shelbyville; sister, Rebecca Myatt of Shelbyville; step-brothers, Jason Boehm of Cowden and Zach Boehm of Westervelt; grandfather, Dan Winings of Thebes; grandmother, June Norfleet and husband Robert of Shelbyville; and nieces, Jessica and Sarah Edwards of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Warren Edwards; and grandmother, Jean Winings.
Jake was a loving father, brother and son. He will be greatly missed.
