James A Sands
(August 31, 1959 – October 26, 2011)
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Ken Manning officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the Prairie Rose Nursing Staff.
Jimmy was born on August 31, 1959 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of William E. and Peggy Ann Sands. In 1976, when Jimmy was a junior at Shelbyville High School, he was in a motorcycle accident and had been in the nursing home ever since. He will be remembered as a fun loving boy with many friends. He loved everybody and everybody loved him. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Shelbyville.
He is survived by his mother, Peggy Smith and husband Ken of Taylorville, IL; sisters, Vicki Dixon of Arlington, VA and Kristi Bright and husband Jim of Creve Coeur, IL; brother, Mike Sands and wife Brenda of Shelbyville; nieces, Ashley Reilly and husband Jon and Tara and Mee Rae Sands; and nephews, Chad Edwards and wife Jolene, Rory Sands and wife Blair and Ott Sands.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill; brother, Scott; grandparents, Ross and Flora Sands and Lucille and Ray Smith; and great grandparents, Cad and Merle Arthur.
