James N Johns

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with John Fultz officiating. Casual attire is requested. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to Shelbyville Community Dialysis.
Mr. Johns was born on March 15, 1947 in Pickaway Twp., IL, the son of Albert and Ruby Clevenger Johns. He attended school in Westervelt and graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1965. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, receiving a Bronze Star for his reconnaissance missions. Jim worked for PPG in Mt. Zion until his retirement. He was a member of the NRA. He married Barbara A. Williams on October 18, 1969.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Angela Pullen and husband Ryan of Moweaqua, IL and Brian Johns and wife of Springfield, IL; brothers, Bernard Fisher and wife Edna of Washington and Lowell Fisher and wife Donna of Argenta, IL; sisters, Iona Stewman and husband Junior of Shelbyville, IL and Norma Smith and husband Phil of Cowden, IL; and grandchildren, Kamren, Grady, Riley and Dillon Johns and Rhett Pullen.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
