Janet F Mount

Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – noon on Wednesday in the funeral home. The family would also like to invite those unable to attend the services on Wednesday to stop by Janet’s home on Tuesday evening to visit with them. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Shelby County Extension Foundation for the 4-H Program.

Janet was born on March 13, 1941 in rural Assumption, IL the daughter of Melvin W. and Rita M. (Julius) Mathias. She attended Assumption Grade School and Shelbyville High School. Janet was a homemaker and a member of the former Shelby County Home Extension–Rose Unit. She enjoyed crafting, taking family vacations and camping with her family and friends. She married John Dale Knearem on June 29, 1958. He died on August 15, 1972. Janet married Jesse David “J.D.” Mount on December 1, 1972. He died on August 26, 2005.

She is survived by her sons, John Knearem (Tracy) of Shelbyville, Jim Knearem (Kathy) of Shelbyville, Jess Mount (Tracy) of Indianapolis, Jerry Knearem (Jessica) of Shelbyville and Robert Mount (Shelly) of Shelbyville; daughters, Julie Kneller (Mike) of Shelbyville, Jodie Knearem of Shelbyville, and Marlow Stephens (Charlie) of Shelbyville; sister, Margaret Neely of Brownsburg, IN; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Rita Mathias; husbands, John Dale Knearem and J.D. Mount; and son-in-law, Rodney Stephens.
