Janet I. (Dugger) Fox Wise , 84, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 4:37 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2023 in HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital, Shelbyville, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Nathan Woolery officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL.  Memorials may be given to St. Jude or the American Diabetes Association.

Janet was born on April 24, 1939 in Pana, IL, the daughter of Alden Edgar and Mary (McBride) Dugger.  She graduated from Mt. Zion High School in the Class of 1957.  She married Roger E. Fox on August 2, 1958 and he preceded her in death on September 16, 1990.  Janet later married Lyle Wise on November 9, 1991 and he preceded her in death on April 24, 2013.  Janet worked in the medical offices of Dr. Shields, Dr. Little and Dr. Gurujal all in Shelbyville.  She later worked in the billing department of the Shelbyville Water Department until her retirement.  She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville and enjoyed playing cards and playing games on her iPad.

She is survived by her daughters, Theresa Canada (Steve), Cynthia Fox and Christine Brown (Barry) all of Shelbyville, IL; son, Anthony Fox (Carla) of   Poplar Bluff, MO; step-children, Todd Wise, Susan Wise Mayland (Perry); and Lila Rae Wise; siblings, Sue McMahon, Pam Corman, Gene Sphar, Terry Sphar, Carol Sphar, and Marybeth Berry; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Mary and Carl Sphar; father, Alden Dugger; husbands, Roger Fox and Lyle Wise; son, Timothy Fox; son-in-law, Danny Brown; brother, Kenny Dugger; and sister, Darlene DeVore.
