Janet K Wheeler
(October 16, 1941 – May 21, 2015)
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 24, 2015 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Kathy Lewis officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Hubbartt Cemetery, near Beecher City, IL. Memorials may be given to Mode United Methodist Church or Alzheimer’s Association.
Janet was born on October 16, 1941 in Mode, Illinois, the daughter of Olin Leroy and Dorothy Bernice Whitwell Syfert. She graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in the Class of 1959. Janet married Gary Lee Wheeler on July 11, 1959. She attended Mode United Methodist Church and was a member of the Illinois State Rifle Association and the National Rifle Association. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved her family greatly.
She is survived by her husband, Gary; sons, Mike Wheeler and wife Diane of Mode, IL and Wes Wheeler and wife Cheryl of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren, Tyler Wheeler and wife Lauren, Becca Wheeler, Faith Wheeler, Casey Wheeler, Cody Wheeler and Caylee Wheeler; and great grandson, Ryder Wheeler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Jimmy Syfert.
