Janie Marie Wicker , 73, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 4:50 p.m. Monday, December 11, 2023 in Shelbyville Manor.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Glenwood Cemetery (Division 7), Shelbyville, IL, with Rev. Richard Hargrave officiating. Arrangements are by Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to HSHS St. John’s Foundation, Springfield, IL.

Janie was born on September 25, 1950 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Robert and Virginia (Rinehart) Cresswell.  She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1968.  She married Roger Wicker on October 30, 1971 and he preceded her in death on October 3, 2009.  Janie was a stay at home mom and took care of her two children, Kevin & Karen. She later worked for ALCO and County Market, both in Shelbyville, IL. Janie was a member of Shelbyville First United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading, playing games on her iPad and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Kevin Bruce Wicker (Lori Alvis Ashworth) of Shelbyville, IL; daughter, Karen  Wicker (Fred Tippit) of Findlay, IL; sister, Patricia Tull of Shelbyville, IL; grandson, Derek Wicker and his daughter, Ella; special nieces, Diana Winson of Benton, IL and Debra Winson of Charleston, IL; and her beloved cat, Gizzy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Virginia; husband, Roger; and brother-in-law, Robert Tull.
