Jason Navis

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Susan Burnett officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Shelby County Dive Team and Rescue Squad or American Red Cross.
Jason was born on April 6, 1983 in Mattoon, IL, the son of Dale Allan and Angela Michele Phillips Navis. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 2002. Jason worked for the Monsanto Corporation in Illiopolis, IL. He enjoyed horseback riding, hunting and sitting around the fire with his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Dale Navis and wife Julie of Shelbyville, IL and Angela Jesse husband Mike of Shelbyville, IL; brother, Justin Navis and partner Amanda Sprague of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, Staci Navis of Effingham, IL and Laura Jesse of Collinsville, IL; step-brothers, Travis Reider and wife Liz of Oblong, IL, Anthony Reider of Decatur, IL and Troy Reider and wife Allison of Bonnie, IL; step-sisters, Nicole Jesse of Pana, IL and Stephanie Walters and husband Aaron of O’Fallon, IL; grandparents, Max and Norma Lape and Ruth Navis all of Shelbyville, IL; step-grandparents, Richard and Donna Rodman and Juanita Jesse all of Shelbyville, IL; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gene Navis; step-grandfather, Lyle Jesse; and great grandparents, Ed and Minnie Agney, Walter and Esther Navis and Claude and Mildred Downs.
