Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church, Shelbyville, IL with Father Don Wolford as Celebrant. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. A family prayer service will precede the visitation at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund.
Jerome was born on July 23, 1930 in Teutopolis, IL the son of Harry B. and Clara (Schneck) Pruemer. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Jerome married Louise F. Beckman on November 28, 1953. He owned and operated Pruemer Dairy Farm in Shelbyville until his retirement. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Shelby County Farm Bureau and Prime-Timers. He enjoyed coon hunting, mushroom hunting, picking blackberries, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and playing pinochle.
Jerome is survived by his wife, Louise; sons, Alan Pruemer (Donna Martin) of Shelbyville, Dale (Gloria) Pruemer of Dieterich, Nick (Becky) Pruemer of Shelbyville, and Brian (Karen) Pruemer of Shelbyville; daughters, Kathleen (Joel) Clark of Shelbyville, and Amy (Barry) Reynolds of Cincinnati, OH; daughter-in-law, Marla Pruemer of Shelbyville; brother, Gerald Pruemer of Teutopolis; sister-in-law, Mary Pruemer of Effingham; 18 grandchildren, Aaron (Melissa) Clark, Matt (Liz) Clark, Will (Jenna) Clark, Jeff (Casey) Pruemer, Jill Pruemer, Jeremy (Christy) Pruemer, Jason (Alyssa) Pruemer, Jacob (Kate) Pruemer, Jessica (Michael) Landers, Justina (Ryan) White, Brittany (Phil) Kaufman, Trevor Pruemer, Kasey (Joe) Klein, Kaleb Pruemer, Levi (Molly) Pruemer, Dakota Pruemer, Danielle Reynolds (fiancé Alex Meineke), and Alex Reynolds; 35 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Pruemer; grandson, Joey Pruemer; great grandsons, Joseph Pruemer and Abraham Pruemer; brothers, Clarence Pruemer, Herbert Pruemer, Edward Pruemer, David Pruemer, and Henry Pruemer; and sisters, Harriet Borries and Dorothy Pruemer in infancy.
