Jerry L. Nichols, 82, of Shelbyville, IL passed away at 7:57 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2020 in HSHS St. Johns Hospital, Springfield, IL.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2020 in Glenwood Cemetery (Blyman Addition), Shelbyville, IL, with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Shelby Christian Church, and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Jerry was born on November 11, 1938, in Moweaqua, IL, the son of Morris A. and Zetta (Short) Nichols. He attended Findlay Schools, graduating in the Class of 1956. Jerry then went on to serve his country in the United States Army in Korea following the Korean War. He married Patricia Ann Davis on November 10, 1961, and she preceded him in death on April 1, 2010. Jerry worked many years as a Seed Sales Representative, most recently working for Wyckoff Hybrids of Valparaiso, IN. He attended Shelby Christian Church and also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and flowers. Jerry simply enjoyed life, and his granddaughters were his greatest joy. Jerry married Judy McGill on January 3, 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Troy Nichols and wife Denise of Lamesa, TX; daughter, Michelle Bullen and husband Don of Hopkinsville, KY; brothers, Larry Nichols and wife Fritzie of Shelbyville, IL, Wayne Nichols and wife Shari of Brady, TX, Mike Nichols of Mattoon, IL, and Brian Nichols of Findlay, IL; sisters, Linda Reynolds of Bradenton, FL, Debbie Felter of Bethany, IL, Marsha Carpenter and husband Bob of Elizabethville, PA, and Lori Ryherd and husband Doug of Sullivan, IL; 6 grandchildren, Erin, Adrianne, Malorie, and Naomi Nichols, and Hannah and Sarah Beth Bullen; and dear friends, Mike and Tina McGill, and Kelly and Dalton McGill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Patricia.
