Jim Hammond

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Shelby County Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.
Jim was born on July 4, 1943 in Blue Diamond, KY, the son of Leonard L. and Lura (Collins) Hammond. He attended Shelbyville High School and was a member of the Class of 1961. Jim then served in the U. S. Navy. He was a utility man for the Mueller Company in Decatur, IL at the time of his retirement. Jim enjoyed boating on Lake Shelbyville, golfing and gardening.
He is survived by his daughter, Brandi Borries of Shelbyville, IL; son, Ty Hammond of Beecher City, IL; grandson, Ian Hammond of Beecher City, IL; brothers, Mike Hammond (Lee) of Georgetown, TX, Bob Hammond (Karen) of Decatur, IL, Tom Hammond (Debbie) of Shelbyville, IL and Ron Hammond of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, LaVonne West of Decatur, IL, Wanda Suey of Nashville, TN, Linda McConnell (Jerry) of Shelbyville, IL and Lois Blickem (Vance) of Oregon; sister-in-law, Diana Hammond of Shelbyville, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Don Hammond, Dennis Hammond and Edward Hammond; brother-in-law, Eddie Suey; and nephew, Warren Blickem.
