Jim J. “Uncle Jim” Macari , 94, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 in his residence.

Private family graveside services will be held Monday, June 7, 2021 at Knobs Cemetery, near Tower Hill, IL with Rev. Randy Miller officiating.  Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.  Memorials may be given to the Shelbyville High School FFA Program and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Jim was born on November 15, 1926 in Coello, IL, the son of Pete and Jennie Belom Macari.  He attended Robtown School, a one room school house in Sesser, IL. Jim married Marjorie Jane Meisenhelder on April 5, 1953 in Newark, OH.  They moved to Shelbyville in 1957 for Jim to become a jobber for the Standard Oil Company.  Jim was replacing Brice Kennedy, who was the Standard Oil Representative for many years.  Jim worked for Standard Oil for 37 years, retiring in 1994. He was the first in the State of Illinois to sell liquid propane for Standard Oil.   He also owned and operated Macari Service Centers in Shelbyville and Pana, IL for many years.   Jim was a member of the Shelbyville Kiwanis Club.   Following his retirement, Jim farmed in the Tower Hill area.  He was a hard worker and believed in the value of getting an early start to each day.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandi Bradford (Perry) of Williams Bay, WI; sons, Randy Macari (Martha) and Andy Macari (Krista) all of Shelbyville, IL; eight grandchildren, Jordan Bradford (Kelsey), Jameson Bradford (Bethany), and Jessica Molitor (Joel) all of Wisconsin, Abby Macari of Indiana, Jared Macari (Allysa) of Bourbonnais, IL, and Adam, Alex and Anna Macari all of  Shelbyville; and nine great grandchildren, Emma Bradford, Ella Bradford, Blake Bradford, Turner Bradford, William Molitor, Nessa Molitor, Amerlia Molitor, Aubree Macari and Samuel Molitor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie Macari; and sister, Kay Burzynski.
