Joan M. Hoehn , 88, of Sullivan, IL, passed away peacefully at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 in Shelbyville Manor, surrounded by her loving grandchildren Billie Beyer, Amanda Mathre, and Jeremy Mathre.

Joan was born November 30, 1932 to William Levert Waters and Mamie Mae Taylor Waters.   Joan was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She loved the outdoors, especially fishing and mushroom hunting.  Joan loved playing bingo with family and friends.  She also loved to take trips with her siblings and family, especially to Virginia, Mississippi, Hawaii and even Mexico.  Joan’s family was everything to her and she was known for her green thumb.   She later moved to northern Illinois to raise her family and then returned to southern Illinois to be near her siblings.  She worked at Ace Hardware in Montgomery, IL in the 80s and then Walmart in Aurora, IL, where she retired in 2002.

Joan is survived by her children, Joyce Beyer (Ted), Harold Hoehn, Donald Hoehn (Pam) and Tim Hoehn (Sam); son-in-law, Dave Beyer; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and siblings, Rowena McArdle and Bob Waters (Linda).

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Patricia Joan Beyer; and siblings, Lucille Christian, Betty Endris, Delores Sphar, Bill Waters, Gene Waters, and Lulu Belle Waters Miller.

Services are to be private.  Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL
