John Robert “Moose” Hawkins-Messado , 39, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021 in his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL, with Gary Duckett officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Funeral Home. Arrange ments are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.

John was born on April 12, 1982 in Chicago, IL, the son of John Hawkins and Margaret (Hudson) Messado. He graduated from Shelbyville High Sch ool. John enjoyed hanging out with friends, taking walks, camping, shooting guns, and collecting tactical gear.

John is survived by his mother, Margaret Messado of Shelbyville, IL; brother, Terry Messado of Shelbyville, IL; niece, Felicia Messado of Shelbyville, IL; and nephew Emrik Messado, of Shelbyville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Hawkins.
