Jordan M Giertz

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Strasburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Kathy Lewis officiating. Visitation from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Monday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL. Burial will be in Branch Side Cemetery, Gays, IL. Memorials may be given to Haven House, 12685 Olive Boulevard, St. Louis, MO, 63141 (Haven House provides affordable lodging for out-of-town families with a loved one in a St. Louis hospital).
Jordan was born on December 20, 1989 in Mattoon, IL, the son of Michael Joseph and Peggy Jo Drummond Giertz. He graduated from Windsor High School in the Class of 2008. He was a cook for T-N-T Pizzeria in Sullivan, IL. Jordan was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and frogging. He also loved spending time with his nephew and niece and driving his Jeep. Jordan was a member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Peggy Giertz of Gays; brother, Sean Austin and wife Donya of Gays; sister, Missy Hendrickson and husband Nick of Gays; beloved nephew and niece, Brody and Faith Hendrickson both of Gays; grandparents, Everett and Geraldine Drummond of Gays; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jordan was preceded in death by his grandmother, Wanda Giertz; uncle, Steve Giertz; and aunt, Karey Drummond.
