Joyce C. Johnson , 79, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 12:24 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2022 in Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2022 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.  Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2022 in the funeral home.  Burial will be at a later date in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family of Joyce C. Johnson.

Joyce was born on October 2, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of James and Margaret Leuschner Rempas.  She graduated from Steinmetz High School in Chicago, IL in 1961.  Joyce married Cleve Johnson on March 10, 1962.  Before becoming a mother, she worked for USPS where she was a letter carrier in Melrose Park, IL. She then transferred to O’Hare field in the secured area where she had her own armed guard. Joyce was an avid collector of seashells and enjoyed gardening and traveling.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Johnson (Christopher Sandoval) of Shelbyville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Cleve Johnson.

In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Joyce was a mother figure and touched many lives.  She will be greatly missed.
