Joyce May

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Roger Quarton and Rev. Lynette DeAtley officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Traughber Cemetery, near Moweaqua, IL. Memorials may be given to Ralph May for the benefit of Linda and Lu Ann May.
Joyce was born on April 8, 1934 in Pana, IL, the daughter of Paul and Irene (Hay) Schnute. She graduated from Pana High School in the Class of 1952. Joyce enjoyed working around her home and spending time with her family. She attended Westervelt Christian Church and a former member of Grace United Methodist Church in Westervelt, IL. She married Ralph May on December 21, 1952.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph; son, Michael May and wife Vicki of Shelbyville, IL; daughters, Linda May and Lu Ann May both of Shelbyville, IL; sister, June McDonald of Cairo, MO; granddaughters, Rebecca Miller and husband Nathan and Danielle Culberson and husband Eric; great grandchildren, Adalynn and Jaden Miller and Kenly and Jed Culberson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mary Lewis and husband John and Jane Gilpin and husband Kenneth; brother-in-law, Delmar McDonald and nephew, Kenny Lynn Gilpin.
