Juanita E Gerhold

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Pastor Jim Hibbett officiating. Visitation two hours before services. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Dollville, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Cemetery Fund or American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Gerhold was born on July 7, 1928 in rural Pana, Illinois, the daughter of L.E. and Dorothy Sherwood McDonald. She graduated from Tower Hill High School in the Class of 1946. She was an Avon representative for many years. Juanita was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Dollville, where she was a Sunday school teacher and served on the church board and church guild. She married John L. Gerhold on August 2, 1947.
Surviving are her husband, John; sons, Allen Gerhold and wife Ann of Decatur and Bob Gerhold and wife Cheryl of Moweaqua; brother, Lowell “Lefty” McDonald of Lakeland, FL; sister, Rosie Ruot of Pana; grandchildren, John Gerhold and wife Kathy of Assumption, Dana Thomann and husband Matt of Grenoble, France, Megan Reininger and husband Bill of St. Louis, MO and Laura Gerhold of Savoy; and great grandchildren, Audrey and Lane Thomann, Drew Gerhold, Peyton Lees and Allie and Will Reininger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Gene and Wilmer McDonald.
