Juanita P Cochran
(January 19, 1916 – September 24, 2006)
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Bob Hoover officiating. Visitation one hour before services. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Decatur. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
Juanita was born on January 19, 1916 in Mt. Auburn, Illinois, the daughter of Edward and Elsie Cook Reed. She married Shelby Henry Cochran on November 5, 1932 in Mt. Auburn. She was a cook for the Mt. Zion School District for 17 years and was known by friends and family for her excellent culinary skills. She was an avid bingo and card player. They enjoyed spending winters in Florida. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2002
Surviving are her daughters, Janice Rostek of Macon and Shelby Williams and husband Dave of Shelbyville; sons, Vernon Cochran and wife Dorothy of Escondido, CA and Larry Cochran and wife Judy of Colorado Springs, CO; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and eight great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Violet Carter; son-in-law, Howard Rostek; and grandson, Ron Rostek.
