Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2016 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Greg Breeden officiating. Casual attire is requested. Judy was born on January 29, 1941 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Louis Preston and Hester Marie (Cox) Hankins. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1960. Judy worked for Dillow’s Drug Store and The Kay Drive-In Theatre both in Shelbyville, IL. Judy married Bill R. Carter on October 6, 1973. He died on June 20, 1979. She enjoyed going out to eat with Naomi Gill. Judy also had a good friend in Lloyd Ruff for 27 years. She was in the Shelbyville Manor for the last two years after having a stroke. Judy attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Shelbyville, IL.
She is survived by her sisters, Joy Buzzard (Orvel) of Shelbyville, IL and Nancy Metzger (David) of Springfield, IL; sister-in-law, Sue Hankins of Shelbyville, IL; good friends, Naomi Gill of Shelbyville, IL and Lloyd Ruff of Fancher, IL; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Richard Hankins and Bobby Hankins; and sisters, Gwen LeCrone (Robert) and Ramona Williams (Clyde).
