Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2009 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Brother Darrell Best officiating. Visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Brunswick Cemetery, near Westervelt, IL. Memorials may be given to Lincolnland Visiting Nurses.
Mrs. Barrett was born on May 4, 1945 in Mattoon, IL, the daughter of Ralph L. and Betty J. Griffin Gottman. She was a machine operator at International Paper in Shelbyville. Judy was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary of Shelbyville. She enjoyed fishing, camping and feeding the birds. She married Ronald E. Barrett on December 18, 1962.
Surviving are her husband, Ronald; daughters, Teri Vance of Shelbyville and Marie Upmann and husband Todd of Findlay; and grandchildren, Casey, Kelci, Savannah and Sierra Dilley, Jessika Lewis and J.D. Upmann.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack L. Gottman; sister, Jewell M. Gottman; and son-in-law, Thurman E. Vance, Jr.
